Over the years, Piet Mondrian's fabulously retro artwork has become an amazing inspiration for todays fashion. Starting back in the 60's, when YSL took the famous color pallet and pattern for a mod dress, the trend has bloomed. I especially love how Christian Louboutin tweaked the thin black lines and made them not straight or the same widths- very un-Mondrian. Also, Kate Spade did an adorable job making their Mondrian-esque pieces a touch on the girly side, edging away from the primary colors. Very sharp and simple. I love it.
