(even though I'm not going)
Not to be cheesy, but it has always been a huge dream of mine to venture to the Big Apple for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Because, to be honest, stalking the videos from the shows, the candid street style shots, and envious blog posts is simply not enough. I want to be at the shows, be on the Vogue website for what I wore, and I want to write a post about my opinions on the shows- including my own iPhone photography and gift bag reviews. The surroundings of New York are amazing enough with out Fashion Week, but adding thousands of the world's most stylish is like a dream. Fashion Week is a time to wear the most outrageous clothing items and have no one judge you. It's the perfect place to wear the weirdest stuff you own- everything is acceptable. If I were to be lucky enough to go, I would make sure to bring my most loved and out-there pieces- much like the items collaged above.
Starting September 5th, the best week ever begins.

A few fall items perfect for the "Back-to-School" season!

p.s. who needs text books if you have the Opening Ceremony book- which may be just as long?

Hello! I'm finally back from camp. When I left, shorts, tanks, and sundresses were the summer uniform, but as the fall draws near, we must get ready to transition. The only issue is that in many places, including LA, it does not get cold until at least the second month of school. This is problematic because fall clothes (my favorite) are adorable- who doesn't love sweaters, coats, scarves, and boots? But, if we follow the status-quo and participate in the fall cycle too soon, we may suffer from extreme heat. This is why the transition from summer to fall (or "Back to School" clothing) is crucial. Great ways to beat the heat but not look too summery- jeans, a short sleeve or tank, and sandals, a skirt paired with a sweater and lace-ups, a mini dress with a light coat, or shorts, a T, and blazer. Or, if it's really too hot, keep to basic neutrals and simple pairings.

It's good to be back!

Grace Coddington has ruled the Fashion World since her marvelous modeling years. She soon became the Junior Editor of British Vogue, then Photo Editor for nineteen years. She arrived in New York for her Calvin Klein job, and soon after she joined Anna Wintour, another fabulous fashion queen, at American Vogue, where she still works as the magazine's Creative Director. Her style and elegance has stayed persistent through the years, as well as her brilliantly bright red hair. Only some can pull it off, Grace definitely included. Grace is absolutely, positively, no questions asked, the coolest 72 year old I know.
