What’s your favorite Color?

My fingers want to type, but my mind won’t give up any of it’s thoughts. Write anyway.

Writing Prompt: Write a scene that includes the color white, literally or figuratively.

Response:

Sadie McClellan was waltzing through the streets of the fancy outdoor shopping area. The last minute gift for her aunt had been purchased, swinging the bag as she walked. She was almost skipping in her new milky silken dress. Her long white wool coat was left open, hiding the delicate cap sleeves. It highlighted the draping from the high neck across her waist and floating to her ankles. There was just enough space to see her stockinged legs before they hit her kitten heeled booties, though the dress never stopped swirling enough to focus on her toes.

Under a streetlight, Sadie halted abruptly and raised her hands over her head. The sparkling glitter fell around her. She allowed the snowflakes to melt on her cheeks. Her laughter lifted to the air to play with the tiny crystals. It didn’t matter that it would mess up her hair and makeup.

Lining the sidewalks were giant pines, decorated with beautiful gold and silver bangles. Red bows topped the boughs. The wind was thick with snow. The light bouncing off the white flakes in the air shimmered. The fluff accumulated in the corners of windows, frosting the glass. Glittering currents of snow blew across the streets, and tiny white tornados rose as cars passed through the diamond wave patterns.

Sadie put her arms down and took in the scene, every detail. Then she walked on, taking her joy with her to share with others at the party.
